How it works
A shared weekly meal plan and shopping list for two people who don't have time to sync every day.
Getting in — no email, no password
1. Type your name. That's how your partner will see who added or bought what.
2. First person: click Create to start your kitchen. You'll get a 6-digit PIN.
3. Second person: click Join your partner's, enter that PIN.
That's it — no account, no verification email. The app remembers you on this device after that.
This Week tab
- Each day is a card. Tap + add dinner to plan it — either pick a recipe you've saved, or just type something like "Dumplings."
- Use ‹ › to look at last week or next week.
- Tap the ✕ on a planned meal to remove it.
- Whoever adds a meal, the other person sees it appear automatically — no need to tell each other.
Shopping List tab
- Click ↻ Regenerate shopping list (on the This Week tab) to pull in ingredients from every recipe planned that week — duplicate ingredients are automatically combined into one line.
- You can also add anything manually (like paper towels) directly in the list.
- The important part: when either of you checks an item off while actually at the store, it checks off on the other person's phone too, within a second or two — so you never both buy the same thing.
- Items are grouped by aisle (Produce, Meat & Seafood, Dairy & Eggs, Pantry, Frozen, Other) to make shopping faster.
Recipes tab
- Click + New recipe to save one. Give it a title, and optionally a link back to the original source (like an NYT Cooking recipe) — we only store the link, never copy their text or photos.
- List ingredients one per line, e.g.:
2 onion 1 tbsp soy sauce salmon
Quantity and unit are optional — "salmon" alone works fine. - Once saved, that recipe shows up in the picker when you add a dinner to a day, and its ingredients will flow into the shopping list.
Inviting your partner later
Click Invite in the top bar any time to see your kitchen's PIN again.
Frequently asked
Do I need to make an account?
No. Just a name and a PIN, once per device. There's no password to remember or lose.
What if I switch phones or clear my browser?
Click Switch kitchen in the top bar, then rejoin using your kitchen's PIN (ask your partner, or whoever set it up, to check the Invite screen).
Can more than 2 people join a kitchen?
Yes — anyone with the PIN can join. It's built for a couple, but nothing stops a third person (e.g. a roommate or family member) from joining the same kitchen.
Will this import my saved recipes from a site like NYT Cooking?
Not automatically — we deliberately don't scrape recipe sites (it's against their terms and can cross into copyright issues). Save the link plus your own written ingredients/notes instead.
